Cultural Practices

The way people in a culture do things. This page is all about objects and developents in society and my opinion on them.

Permalink When you get to high school, you magically become skinny. You have the perfect body and are drop dead gorgeous. The girls I was looking at looked like this. There is no magical process that turns a girl skinny when she is 16 like in movies or fairytales; there is nothing pretty about the process to become this skinny. This was my image of beautiful and healthy, but what I was looking at was a distorted image of beautiful. This wasn’t beautiful this is unhealthy. This is when I realized that what you see in magazines and on TV isn’t always as beautiful as the media tells you. To be beautiful you must be naturally pretty and personally must be beautiful. Men don’t marry women because they can see her rib cage; they marry each other because their personalities fit together. They have to be in love. Just because you see someone on the front of a magazine cover doesn’t mean that it’s what you should do.  All things in the media are sugar coded and airbrushed to look the way someone else wants it to. This isn’t real this is Photoshoped, who wants to marry a hologram or someone who has to be constantly covered.

Public Spaces: Teenagers

I can alter a public space, just by walking in. When I walked into a boutique with a larger sized bag the women working in the store watched me as I looked around. She automatically assumed that I was a teenager who was going to steal something from her store. I later that day walked into Meijer and positively changed the atmosphere. I went to the check out, and the man at the register asked how I was doing very enthused. I replied well how are you, he’s head instantly turned? He looked at me very puzzled that I asked how he was, he responded great and smiled.

Best Idea

The best idea is that people should have their own copy of music and have it where ever they go. This is the best idea because instead of having to pay to go to a concert you can just pop in a CD or your Earbuds. We can now preserve centuries of music, just like when people started recording books and copying them.

Permalink Ballet dancing is high art because it is a particular style of dance, that can only be executed one way. It takes poise, determination, stamina, and strength. There is a certain age, weight, and completion necessary to succeed. Ballet is high art because there is a specific slot for ballet dancers, and if they don’t fit in that slot; they make themselves fit or quit.

Why Do We Fight?

Why do we fight?

In this documentary we are watching almost all the “talking heads” say the government lies about when we actually need to fight. We fight because we are use-to fighting and we don’t know any other way to bring pride to our country. We fight because for some people that’s their way of life. They have nothing else to do, so the government gives them something to fight for, something to do with their life, and something to make money. We fight because it give citizens who have nothing value.

The Modest Proposal is under politics because its about who gets what, for what price. This essay is all about who gets food for the price of life. Then the esaay grows and as you analyze it, you go on to relize its all about what can we get at the cost of everyone’s life. What new apple product does the US get, how many children’s live does it cost to make it. This all centralizes around the quote political power grows pur the barrel of a gun, because we’re constantly asking who is going to die next we can get this. This is what our goverment is to form our nation on. Our nations is based on greed and at the cost of someone’s life what do i get. Our nation is self-centered and controlling. No one’s life should be take so we can have a new toy.

Permalink This picture shows exactly how precise a ballerina must execute a leap. You can see all her muscle it takes to jump that high into the air. As she leaps you can see how her legs slice into the splits but don’t stop there, they are inverted. Her ankle is hyper extended and her body is perfectly balanced. Her position is perfect from her feet all the way to the placement of her head and fingers. Everything is aligned and in perfect posture.
Permalink This is the pain and suffering a ballerina hides. It’s excruciating
to dance, leap, and spin all on your toes pressing and balancing on wooden blocks.
